JACKSON, Tenn. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's games against the Jackson Generals at The Ballpark at Jackson scheduled for 6:05 p.m. ET.
Right-handed starting pitcher Angel Sanchez has been claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Sanchez, who was on Miami's 40-man roster, was 0-8 with a 6.88 ERA in 12 starts for the Suns this season. The Suns were 2-10 during his 12 starts on the mound, as the right-hander was in his first season pitching at the Double-A level.
The Suns roster now stands at 23 active players and a revised roster is attached.
Tonight the Suns and Generals play a double-header at The Ballpark at Jackson, with first pitch of game one scheduled for 6:05 p.m. ET.
