San Rafael Pacifics Welcome Maui Na Koa Ikaika to Town

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2012) - The first-place San Rafael Pacifics welcome second-place Maui Na Koa Ikaika to Albert Park in downtown San Rafael for a six-game season-ending series starting Tuesday, Aug. 21, through Sunday, Aug. 26 .

On Tuesday, join us for College Night as college students receive 25-percent off General Admission tickets at the door with a valid ID.

Wednesday, don't miss the showdown of knuckleballers, as the Pacifics Steve Detwiler starts against the "Knuckle Princess" Eri Yoshida . Also, take advantage of $3 beer night at the Stinson Beach Lounge, as all Budweiser and Bud Light draft beer on sale through the fourth inning.

Former Boston Red Sox lefthander and Terra Linda resident Bill "The Spaceman" Lee looks to set a world record, trying to become the oldest pitcher to start and win a professional baseball game. The 65-year-old Lee earned a win with the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League in 2010, and is out to break his own record.

Friday, the Pacifics honor Vernon "Lefty" Gomez as they retire the legend's No. 11. Fairfax residents will receive 25-percent off General Admission tickets at the door with proof of residency, and fans will receive a commemorative photo of Lefty, courtesy of his daughter, Verona Gomez. Ms. Gomez will also be signing her new book ' Lefty, an American Odyssey ' and will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Corte Madera Barnes & Noble will also be selling books at Albert Park.

Friday Aug. 24, is also the last " Miller's Friday " of the year. Fans can bid on the special collector's edition Miller's jerseys in a silent auction during the game, and the winning bidder will be invited onto the field to get their newest piece of memorabilia directly from their favorite Pacifics player who wore it all season long. All proceeds will go to the Jewish Family and Children Services of Marin.

Saturday is the Pacifics first " Bark in the Park Day " as fans are invited to bring their canine companions. Tickets are just $12 and there will be a special section for fans who bring their dogs. Fans must purchase the special ticket to be granted access with their dogs. There will be no exceptions . The Marin Humane Society will also be holding a special adoption event outside of Albert Park for those who wish to adopt a pet.

On Sunday's season finale, fans can win a host of great prizes as we celebrate " Fan Appreciation Day ." One lucky fan will win a 43-inch Flat screen TV, with an I Pad and other great prizes being given out every inning.

The weekend series will also be a best-of-three playoff, with the Pacifics and the Na Koa Ikaika battling for a North American League North Division Championship .
