SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The Maui Na Koa Ikaika scored three runs in the top of the ninth to beat the San Rafael Pacifics 3-1 at Albert Park on Tuesday night.

With a 1-0 lead and Matt Stabelfeld looking for the save in the ninth, Maui (33-27) tallied three hits and took advantage of a defensive miscue to steal the come-from-behind victory.

San Rafael starter Jesse Garcia and six relievers held Maui to two hits (and one walk) through the first eight innings. Garcia struck out four in his three frames. San Marin High grad Vinny Pacchetti, acquired from the Sonoma County Grapes prior to the game, pitched one inning for the Pacifics (31-24) allowing a hit.

Will Wright (1 for 4) drove in Boon Maeda with an RBI single in the seventh. Maike Jova went 2 for 4, short stop Darrick Hale added two hits, and Maeda's leadoff double in the seventh set up the only Pacifics' run of the game.

Yoshihiro Doi (1-0) earnd the win for Maui. Stabelfeld falls to 2-3 on the season.

San Rafael hosts Maui on Wednesday in a battle of knuckleballers. Maui's 20-year-old female sensation, Eri Yoshida, takes on San Rafael High grad Steve Detwiler at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are available at www.pacifcsbaseball.com.
