Worcester Sharks News Release
SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has assigned left wing Tomas Plihal to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League, San Jose's top development affiliate.
Plihal has not appeared in any games this season after suffering a shoulder injury during the preseason on Oct. 25 at Calgary.
Last season, Plihal, 24, registered 15 points (6-9=15) and 28 penalty minutes with Worcester. In addition, he made his NHL debut with the Sharks on Jan. 26 at Edmonton. In three games with San Jose, Plihal posted 10 shots on goal.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Frydlant, Czech Republic, was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
The Sharks host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05pm on Friday, November 30th at the DCU Center. Bay State Financial Services is sponsoring a holiday toy drive, and all fans who donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a future Sharks game. The Salter School of Massage Therapy will be offering free massages on the concourse during the game as well.
