Pirates Players Head to Old Town Today

Pirates defenseman Eric Weinrich was part of the first appearance this year to raise funds for the National Kidney Foundation The Shipyard Brewing Company is hosting a meet and greet on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with Pirates players Matt Keith and Mike Hoffman in at the Hannaford location, 500 Stillwater Ave, Old Town, Maine. The players will be at the event handing out Pirates tickets, signing autographs, and giving away Shipyard key chains, hats and t-shirts. There will also be a live remote from the event on 105.1 WTOS-FM.

As part of the event, during the month of November and December the Shipyard Brewing Company will donate 10 cents from every 12 pack of beer to the National Kidney Foundation.

Fans will also have a chance to sign up for the Shipyard Winter Getaway contest. The Shipyard Brewing Co., along with Hannaford and the Portland Pirates have teamed up to bring you a Winter Getaway to the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic, January 27-28 in Binghamton, New York. Fill out the entry form online and be eligible to win a prize package that consists of VIP transportation to and from Binghamton, two nights lodging, tickets to the 2008 AHL All-Star game, tickets to the Post Skills Party and tickets to the AHL/Hockey Hall of Fame Luncheon! Saturday Night is Hockey Night in Portland! Entertainment will be provided by Mad Science of Maine and New Hampshire! The MaineToday.com Seen Team will also be at the game. Get your photo taken for the website and you may be the Seen Fan of the Night. The game will also be televised on Time Warner Cable on Channel 22 and in former Adelphia service areas where TW9 is available.

Pirates Add Affiliates

The Pirates recently announced that three Gleason Radio stations have enhanced the reach the U.S. Cellular Pirates Radio Network. Fans can listen to all Pirates games live the U.S. Cellular Pirates Radio Network on 1400 AM and 1490 AM The Bay and now on the new affiliates, WEZR 1240 AM (Lewiston-Auburn), WTME 780 AM (Rumford) and WKTQ 1450 AM (South Paris). Fans can also listen to the games for free or watch the games on the internet courtesy of B2 Networks at www.portlandpirates.com. The pre-game show with Brian Demoree and Greg Glynn "The Voice of the Pirates" begins 10 minutes before face-off.
