Goaltender Noal Schaefer reassigned to Aeros from Minnesota Wild

HOUSTON, Texas - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned goaltender Nolan Schaefer to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild has also activated former Aero goaltender Josh Harding from Injured Reserve.

Schaefer, 27 (1/15/80), has been recalled to the Wild three times this season without appearing in a game. He is 3-4-0 with a 2.67 (GAA) and a .906 save percentage in seven games for the Aeros this season. Schaefer is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Yellow Grass, Sask. He was San Jose's fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota signed Schaefer as a free agent on July 3, 2007. Schaefer is 5-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA in seven career NHL games - all with San Jose. .

Friday and Saturday are the first two dates for Houston Aeros Charities Toy Drive. The collection will take place at the charities table between sections 111 and 112. All those toys will be donated to the Houston Aeros Power Playroom at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Saturday is also Houston Aeros Charities Teddy Bear Toss. All the stuffed animals brought will be tossed onto the ice immediately following the first Aeros goal and donated to KHOU's Spirit of Texas Toy Drive.
