Martin Agosta is slated to make the start on the mound for the Giants tonight. Agosta, a former second round draft pick, has allowed just seven runs in 28 1/3 innings this season (2.22 ERA). He worked a season-high seven innings in his most recent start on May 29 versus Modesto yielding just two runs with four strikeouts. Agosta retired 14 consecutive Nuts hitters at one point during the start.

Winning Ways The Giants have won 13 out of their last 18 games. San Jose hasn't lost more than two in a row since dropping a season-high three straight from April 29-May 1.

Homestand Update The Giants are 5-2 thus far on their season-high 11-game homestand. San Jose posted back-to-back victories over Modesto last Sunday and Monday to open the homestand. The Giants then split a doubleheader with Lancaster on Tuesday before taking two out of three from Visalia in a series that concluded last night. San Jose's 11-game homestand has followed a season-high 14-game road trip (8-6 record).

Visalia Series Win By taking two out of three from Visalia, the Giants secured their first regular season series win against the Rawhide since June of 2014 (won three of four at Municipal Stadium, June 26-29, 2014). San Jose had gone 7-28 versus Visalia since that series victory until winning two out of three in the matchup that ended last night.

First Half Race The Giants (33-21) enter tonight's contest tied with Visalia (33-21) for the top spot in the first half North Division standings. Including this evening's contest, there are 16 games remaining in the first half. San Jose has not held sole possession of first place in the division at any point this half. The Giants were a season-high six games out of first on May 1. San Jose last won a first half title in 2013.

Muni Magic The Giants own a 15-8 record at Municipal Stadium - the top home winning percentage (.652) in the league. San Jose has won 12 out of their last 15 home games. The Giants' 23 home games to date this season are the fewest in the league. San Jose has lost only one home series this year (April 11-13 vs. Visalia). The Giants will play 11 out of their 15 games leading into the All-Star break at home.

Hinojosa, Shaw Among League Leaders The Giants boast two of the top hitters in the California League in shortstop C.J Hinojosa and first baseman Chris Shaw. Shaw ranks first in RBI's (41), first in slugging (.574), second in home runs (12) and tied for second in doubles (18).

San Jose starting pitchers have worked at least seven innings in four out of those six contests. The Giants now rank third in the league with a 3.57 ERA. San Jose has also issued the fewest walks of any pitching staff in the league (3.0 per game).

San Jose will play 26 games against Bakersfield this season, 19 of which will come in the second half.
