San Antonio Suffers Eighth Scoreless Game this Season

San Antonio - The San Antonio Missions entered tonight's contest winning seventeen of the last twenty five games but fell to Midland 10-0 in the second game of their four game series. San Antonio has now yielded 31 runs during their current three game losing streak.

The Missions reverted to first half pitching slump as they gave up eleven hits, walked seven, and only struck out six batters. The RockHounds would score four of their runs with Michael Choice's in the park home run and Miles Head three run homer off the berm in the eighth.

Missions' starter Donn Roach (1-1, 1.67 ERA) had not given up a run in his first fourteen innings pitched with San Antonio, but he surrendered in three runs in his three innings of work to suffer the loss.

San Antonio went 0-9 with runners in scoring position while stranding 12 runners on base.

The Missions are one game behind first place Corpus Christi Hooks in the Texas League South Division.

The Missions will play the third game of their four game series tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Southpaw Carlos Hernandez (2-4, 6.38 ERA) will start for Midland and righty Keyvius Sampson (5-7, 5.12 ERA) takes the hill for the Missions.

There will be post-game fireworks sponsored by the Greater YMCA, followed by a Boy Scouts campout on the field earning their Field of Dreams badge.
