(CORPUS CHRISTI, TX) - San Antonio made it a perfect seven wins in seven games at Whataburger Field as they beat the Hooks 7-4 Monday night. The Missions (19-12, 57-44) stay tied for first place with Midland as the Hooks (15-16, 42-59) fall four games back from the lead.
Leading the Missions' attack was lead off man Jaime Bubela who went 3 for 5 with two runs and a stolen base. T.J. Bohn and Jesse Hoorelbeke followed with a home run each and, Bohn a solo shot and Hoorelbeke with a two run homer.
Josh Anderson led the Hooks' offense with two hits, three runs and his league leading thirty-fifth stolen base. J.R. Phillips kept his hot bat alive as he went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Hooks' starter Philip Barzilla (2-5) suffered his fifth loss of the season.
Game 3 of the series is set for Tuesday with the gates opening at 5:30 and the first pitch to be thrown at 7:05. Making his first start for the Hooks tomorrow will be RHP Peter Bauer (0-0) against San Antonio's RHP Jon Huber (6-5).
