San Antonio Splits Season Series with Chicago After 5-2 Loss

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage (27-24-9-0) fell to the Chicago Wolves (32-18-6-2) 5-2 on Tuesday at the AT&T Center.

The Silver and Black opened the scoring for the second consecutive game at 4:08 of the first period when Adam Musil's shot attempt was redirected to Andrew Agozzino, who fired the puck into the open net. The remainder of the period went scoreless as the Rampage took a one-goal advantage into the first intermission.

After more than 21 minutes of scoreless hockey, Chicago notched the game at one when Stefan Matteau hit Teemu Pulkkinen on a backdoor cut at the 7:41 mark of the second stanza. Beau Bennett gave the Wolves the lead 78 seconds later after he forced a turnover at mid-ice and beat netminder Ville Husso with a wrister from the slot. Chicago extended its lead at 12:04 when Keegan Kolesar found Jake Bischoff on the backside of Husso for his fourth of the season.

San Antonio cut into the lead over four minutes later when Michael Joly delivered a pass to Brendan Ranford, who redirected the puck past goaltender Oscar Dansk at 16:27. The Wolves answered with a goal of their own 32 seconds later after Tobias Lindberg and Bennett found themselves on a 2-on-1 breakaway, allowing Lindberg to record his ninth of the season.

Chicago added its fifth of the evening on a 5-on-3 power-play opportunity at the 8:50 mark of the final frame when Bennett finished a backdoor pass from Brandon Pirri, securing a 5-2 Wolves victory.
