San Antonio FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TX- San Antonio FC (9-9-8) will host Saint Louis FC (7-11-9) at Toyota Field on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The match will be the second time the two clubs face each other as the tight race for the Western Conference playoff spots continues.
Coverage of the match will be available at SanAntonioFC.com and the USL Match Center.
SAFC will head into the match after earning a 1-1 draw at home against Arizona United SC last weekend. Three points at home against Saint Louis would be enough to hold on to their current eighth place position in the standings and could potentially place them in seventh place, pending the result of the match between Swope Park Rangers and Tulsa Roughnecks FC.
Saint Louis FC will look to earn three points on the road after falling 1-2 at FC Cincinnati. The team has earned four draws and three losses in their last seven matches, and has not won a match since July 23. Saint Louis is currently in 13th place in the table, trailing two teams within three points.
The two clubs will meet after San Antonio FC earned a 2-0 win in Saint Louis on Aug. 27 thanks to goals from Sebastien Thuriere and Rafa Castillo, along with an impressive performance in goal by Matt Cardone, where the keeper made seven saves en route to earning USL Player of the Week honors for Week 23.
The match will be the penultimate home game for San Antonio FC. The team will then travel to face Real Monarchs on Sept. 14 before hosting their final home match of the regular season on Sept. 17 against Tulsa Roughnecks FC.
