Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release
Wilmington and FCC last met on April 30th, tying 1-1 at Nippert Stadium. Although FCC is currently sitting in third place, the Port City team forges ahead after a 3-0 win against Orlando to fight for a playoff spot. Head coach Mark Briggs stated, "We are so close to making playoffs. It will be a very challenging match against a very good team." He continued, "If we play the way we did against Orlando, we have a great chance of beating Cincinnati and getting closer to a seed in the playoffs. Cincinnati has been at the top of the table all season and they have a lot of talented players, many of whom are former Hammerheads."
