Sam Black Signs with the Colts

The Barrie Colts are pleased to announce the signing of 2023 fourth-round selection, Sam Black to an OHL Scholarship and Education Agreement!
Black, who stands 6.01 and 182lbs is a left winger from Fergus, ON. The Colts selected Black 73rd overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft. In his U16 season, Black was a member of the Waterloo Wolves U16 program where he registered 36 points (11 Goals, 25 assists) in 32 games. He split last season between the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins (GOJHL) and the Waterloo U18 program.
"Sam came back to our training camp leaving our coaching staff impressed. He took a big jump in his development last season playing U18 in Waterloo and worked on his game. Sam plays a physical game and his improved skating will allow him to be a strong player in our league. We're looking forward to helping him continue his development."
