Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
Sioux Falls, S.D. â The hit parade began early and lasted throughout Sunday afternoon for the Lincoln Saltdogs as they defeated the Sioux Falls Canaries by the score of 18-3, clinching the season-opening series two games to one.
Lincoln gave its starting pitcher Brian Rodaway a four run cushion before he even took the mound by scoring in the top of the first inning. The Saltdogs then added a run in the second, five runs in the fourth inning, two runs in the sixth inning and six runs in the final frame.
The Canaries only scoring came from a three-run homerun off the bat of Edgard Clemente, his third homer in the last two games.
Brian Rodaway picked up the win (1-0), while Jackson Crowther fell in defeat (0-1).
The Saltdogs offense racked up 40 runs and 50 hits in the three-game series.
Sioux Falls continues the opening home stand with game one of a four-game series against the I-29 rival Sioux City Explorers tonight at 7:05. Former Kansas City Royal Tony Cogan will pitch for the Canaries while Tom Lipari is the probable starter for the X's.
