Salt Lake Pitchers Throw a Four-Hit Shutout

Four Salt Lake pitchers combined to throw a four hit shutout, as the Bees blanked the Las Vegas Aviators 2-0 on Thursday night. Starter Janson Junk (1-3) went the first six innings and allowed just two hits with a season high eight strikeouts.Grant Dayton, Jonathan Aro and Ty Buttrey each worked a scoreless inning with Buttrey earning his first save of the season. The four pitchers totaled twelve strikeouts in the game. It is the fourth shutout of the season for the Salt Lake pitching staff.

The only offense came from Jose Rojas, who hit a solo homer in the third inning to give the Bees a 1-0 lead and then added another solo shot in the fifth to close out the scoring. The win gives Salt Lake back to back wins for the first time in July.
