Salt Lake City Stars Fall to Wisconsin Herd

SALT LAKE CITY -After last night's 35-point victory against Wisconsin, the Salt Lake City Stars fell 120-106 in the second game of their back-to-back set, tonight at the Maverik Center.

The Stars began the game trailing behind the Herd 31-19 in the opening quarter. Wisconsin would respond continuing to strengthen their lead to 21-points to close the first half. After the break, Salt Lake City outscored Wisconsin from behind the arc (7-5) and kept the quarter's scoring close (37-31) as the teams traded baskets. However, Wisconsin kept the pace and came out on top, claiming their 120-106 wire-to-wire victory.

All Stars starter scored in double-figures. Guard Christian Vital tallied a team-high 26 points with five rebounds, and three assists. While Stacy Davis notched a double-double on 11 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Jeenathan Williams added 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists for Salt Lake City. Elijah Cain led all reserves with 10 points.

The Herd had five players score in double-figures with all scoring led by Lindell Wigginton, who scored a game-high 41 points. Former Salt Lake City Star, Paris Bass notched a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. The team's second double-double was added by Jontay Porter on 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Salt Lake City is back in action Monday, March 6 in Frisco, Texas to face the Texas Legends. The game will be streamed on NBAGLeague.com at 6 p.m. MT. The Stars continue on the road, facing the Oklahoma City Blue on Wednesday, March 8 and Friday, March 10.
