Iowa Wolves Drop Series Finale to G League Ignite

HENDERSON, Nev. - The Iowa Wolves dropped the series finale to the NBA G League Ignite on Tuesday night losing by a score of 110-102 at The Dollar Loan Center.

Poor three-point shooting (4-of-29) and turnovers (24) hampered Iowa (6-17) in its third-straight loss. The Ignite (9-13) made 12-of-33 threes and scored 22 points off the Wolves' turnovers.

Timberwolves assignee, Josh Minott, had a monster game in his first game with the Wolves since Jan. 29. Minott scored a career-high 37 points on 16-of-21 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds along with three steals and two assists. Emmanuel Mudiay added 16 points and six rebounds while D.J. Carton had 15 points.

John Jenkins scored a team-high 24 points behind six three-pointers for the Ignite. Sidy Cissoko followed with 22 points while Scoot Henderson and Leonard Miller each chipped in 14 points.

Iowa trailed by five points at the start of the second quarter. The Wolves fell behind more as the Ignite outscored them, 30-22, in the second to lead 57-44 at halftime. The Ignite were fueled by 6-of-6 shooting from the free throw line for 10 free throw points in the quarter.

Iowa's poor outside shooting coupled with costly turnovers and the Ignite heating up from three kept the game out of reach in the final two quarters. Iowa trailed by 17 but battled back to get within six points late but couldn't generate the necessary defensive stops.

Iowa stays on the road for another back-to-back series this one at Sioux Falls on Friday and Saturday. Both games will start at 7 p.m. CT.
