Salmon Kings release training camp schedule

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings second season in the ECHL begins with a player orientation on Thursday October 6, 2005. With 21 players locked into contracts for the 2005-06 season, Head Coach and General Manager Bryan Maxwell hopes to have 31 players ready to take to the ice on Friday October 7th.

"The Victoria Salmon Kings staff and players are excited for the start of another hockey season. We can't wait to see the players take to the ice next week," said Bryan Maxwell, Head Coach and General Manager of the Victoria Salmon Kings.

The Salmon Kings will skate for the first time on the ice at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Friday morning. With so many players competing for spots on the 20-man roster, Maxwell will split the players into two groups. Each group will have the opportunity to work out in a morning session, and then will face off against each other in an evening scrimmage.

The Salmon Kings training camp will run from October 7th until Sunday October 16th. The team will then begin regular practice sessions in preparation for their first scheduled regular season game against the Fresno Falcons on Friday October 21, 2005. All Salmon Kings training sessions will be open to the public.

The Victoria Salmon Kings first game in the Save-On-Foods Memorial is scheduled for November 10, 2005 against the Stockton Thunder, game time is 7:00pm.
