Salmon Kings Get Five From The Moose

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the Moose have assigned five players to Victoria.

Jonathan Boutin Goaltender

Patrick Coulombe Defense

Todd Ford Goaltender

Olivier Labelle Forward

Dylan Yeo Defense

** Due to the travel schedules of these five players they may not be available for practice tomorrow. Due to this reason the team will not be having a scrimmage tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon.

Coulombe and Yeo have both worn a Salmon Kings jersey in previous seasons. Coulombe has played parts of two seasons with Victoria, and suited up for 58 games last season producing 8 goals and 22 assists during the regular season. He also appeared in two games for the Moose last year.

Yeo spent the majority of his rookie season in the Capital City playing in 55 games while contributing 10 goals and 18 assists. He also suited up for the Moose in 9 games collecting 2 assists.

Labelle played with the Utah Grizzlies and Bridgeport Sound Tigers last year before signing with the Moose for this season. With the Grizzlies he played in 52 games, notching 26 goals and 22 assists for 48 points while collecting 169 minutes in penalties.

Goaltenders Ford and Boutin arrive in Victoria both with AHL and ECHL experience. Boutin has played the majority of his career games (97 of 118) in the AHL, including last season with the Norfolk Admirals. While in Norfolk he played in 38 games and compiled a record of 13-18-3 record with a 3.31 goals against average and a .900 save percentage for the Admirals who went 29-44-7 last season.

Ford spent the majority of his time with the ECHL's Columbia Inferno and also gained a start with the AHL's Toronto Marlies. With the Inferno he played in 41 games and earned a 21-14-5 record with a 3.01 and .906 save percentage. During the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs he competed in all 13 games for Columbia and compiled an 8-4-1 record with 2.21 goals against average and a .936 save percentage.

The Salmon Kings kick off the regular season with a three game set in Phoenix beginning on October 17th at the US Airways Center. Victoria's home schedule begins on October 24th when the team welcomes the Stockton Thunder to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a 7:05 p.m. game
