Victoria, BC - In a Saturday night contest, the Victoria Salmon Kings played the finale of a two-game in two-night set against the Alaska Aces at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The Salmon Kings started Glenn Fisher between the pipes, while the Aces gave Sebastian Dahm the nod.

The Aces took an early 1-0 lead in the game at the 1:45 mark of the first period. Alexander Imbeault collected a rebound off a Colin Hemingway shot and buried the puck over the glove of Fisher. Alaska quickly extended their lead to 2-0 at 3:48 of the first when Imbeault notched his second goal of the game. The Aces lead would widen to three goals when Imbeault completed his natural hat trick goal when he received a pass from T.J. Fast and put it in. Alaska connected again at 17:53 of the first frame as Brock McBride found a puck in front of the Salmon Kings' goaltender and fired it in for his second goal of the season. The Aces ended the first period with a 4-0 lead over the Salmon Kings.

The Salmon Kings broke into the Aces lead at the 2:06 mark of the second period. Andy Brandt scored when he took a cross-crease pass on a two-on-one from Mike Hamilton. It was Brandt's 10th goal of the campaign. Victoria narrowed the lead at the 8:40 mark during a power play when Jimmy Sharrow let a wrist shot fly from the left point that sailed through a crowd and past Dahm for his sixth tally of the year. Victoria moved to within one as Hamilton picked up a pass from the right corner by Adam Taylor and scored his fourth of the season. The Salmon Kings completed the comeback at 16:32 when Patrick Coulombe skated through the Aces' defence and slipped the puck to Hamilton who netted his second goal of the game past the glove of Dahm. The game was deadlocked at 4-4 through 40 minutes of play.

Victoria started the final frame strong as they seized their first lead of the game 40 seconds into the period. Captain Wes Goldie scored the go-ahead goal when he redirected Tim Wedderburn's pass from the left corner for his team-leading 16th marker of the campaign. Victoria's Fisher closed the door in the third period turning away nine shots that included a game-saving pad save in the dying seconds. Salmon Kings 5 Aces 4

Victoria went 1/520% on the power play, while Alaska was 0/30.0%. The Salmon Kings outshot the Aces 32-24.
