Stockton's Pitton Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Bryan Pitton of the Stockton Thunder is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 21-27.

The 21 year old had 41 saves, one shy of his career high, in a 3-1 win at Bakersfield on Dec. 26, ending a 10-game home winning streak for the Condors.

Selected in the fifth round (133rd overall) by Edmonton in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft by Edmonton and under NHL contract to the Oilers, Pitton is 4-1-0 with two overtime wins in his last five starts and 5-8-1 with a goals-against average of 3.47 and a save percentage of.904 in 15 games for the Thunder. He was called up to the NHL on Dec. 12 and spent three days with the Oilers before being reassigned to Stockton.

He played for Stockton as a rookie in 2008-09 and was 9-19-3 with a goals-against average of 3.39 and a save percentage of.886 in 34 games.

Pitton played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League where he was 64-46-6 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 3.22 and a save percentage of.894 in 124 games for Brampton from 2005-08.

Runners Up: Mike Morrison, Florida (1-0-1, 1.46 GAA,.954 save pct.) and David Brown, Gwinnett (1-0-0, 1.94 GAA,.959 save pct.).
