Salmon Kings Add Goaltender Riley Gill

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed goaltender Riley Gill.

The Northfield, MN native began his professional career last season with three games in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings. In those starts, Gill posted a 1-0-1 record to go along with a 0.929 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average. He also dressed for four starts with the K-Wings in the 2010 Kelly Cup Playoffs, going 1-2. This included a 2.26 goals against average and a 0.941 save percentage.

The 6-0, 201 lb goaltender spent four years with the NCAA's Western Michigan University Broncos prior to turning professional. In 111 career starts at school between 2006-07 and 2009-10, Gill finished with a 39-56-12 record, alongside a 0.915 save percentage, a 2.95 goals against average and eight shutouts.

The Salmon Kings kick-off the 2010-11 season with two exhibition contests versus the UBC Thunderbirds tonight at 7:05 p.m. and tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 p.m. Admission is by donation to the TLC Fund for Kids, while hotdogs, popcorn and medium pop are available to purchase for only $1 each!
