Salem Red Sox Activate Manuel Margot

The Salem Red Sox have activated OF Manuel Margot from the disabled list. Margot fills an open roster slot and is active for tonight's game at Winston-Salem. There is no corresponding move at this time.

Margot has been on the DL since May 12 and last played in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday, May 9 against the Carolina Mudcats. Margot was batting .257 with 19 runs scored, three triples and 11 stolen bases when he was placed on the DL with an intercostal injury. Despite missing 18 games, Margot is tied for fourth in the league in triples and stolen bases. He was the last regular position player in minor league baseball to strike out in 2015, lasting 69 plate appearances before he first fanned.

The Red Sox roster sits at the league maximum of 25 players with four on the disabled list. In addition, RHP Chandler Shepherd has changed his number to 24. Also, Deiner Lopez turned 21 today.
