Salary Caps and Slinkys Bookend 8-Game Homestand

CHARLESTON, SC - The RiverDogs launch their first eight-game homestand of the 2009 season as the Greenville Drive, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, and the Asheville Tourists, an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, each battle four-game sets against Charleston. Fans will enjoy a plethora of fun and excitement at The Joe throughout the eight days, as the homestand is bookended by Salary Cap giveaways and a Salute to the Slinky. While the rest of the week continues to showcase typical RiverDogs zaniness that fans will enjoy - like the 1K run, midget wrestling, another All-U-Can Eat special and daytime baseball - fans can rest assured that there will be plenty of fun taking place at The Joe during the upcoming eight games.

Monday , May 4 Greenville Drive 7:05 PM "Dogs with a Cause" features the Goodwill Industries and Fitness Night are presented by WSC 94.3 FM; Tom McQueeney State Farm "Good Neighbor" Monday.

Tuesday, May 5 Greenville Drive 11:05 AM Two for Tuesday / School Day is presented by Bi-Lo, 98X and the CW. Citadel Doubleheader.

Wednesday, May 6 Asheville Tourists 8:05 PM Talk Like Arnold from Cah-LEE-forn-yah Night, Wild Wednesday's All-U-Can-Eat Special presented by B 92. Citadel Doubleheader

Thursday, May 7 Asheville Tourists 7:05 PM RiverDogs 1K Run; Thirsty Thursday; and midget wrestling presented by 95 SX.

Friday, May 8 Asheville Tourists 7:05 PM Postgame fireworks and Force Protection Red Shirt Friday presented by Force Protection Industries Inc. and WEZL 103.5 FM.

Saturday, May 9 Asheville Tourists 7:05 PM Salute to the Slinky featuring The Human Slinky; the first 1,000 fans will receive their favorite coiled toy and enjoy the wacky performances of the Human Slinky courtesy of WTAT Fox 24.

Salary Cap Giveaway and Citadel Doubleheader

The economy may not have put a cap on the salaries of Major League baseball players but that does not mean that baseball fans cannot wear a salary cap. This Saturday the RiverDogs will give away free baseball caps, courtesy of My TV Charleston, to the first 1,000 fans through the gates. It is also a Citadel doubleheader as the Bulldogs host Samford at 3 pm.

Family Sunday and Citadel Doubleheader

Sundays are always packed with family fun, from face painting to inflatables on the concourse, and Reading with the RiverDogs as one player reads aloud to the kids. Plus, the RiverDogs and Charlie T. RiverDog will sign autographs after the game. And, as there is every Sunday, there's free parking and kids under 12 eat free. Family Sunday is presented by Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission and Star 99.7 FM. Prior to the game, The Citadel hosts Samford at 1 pm.

"Dog with a Cause" featuring the Goodwill Industries and Fitness Night

Monday is "Dogs with a Cause" Night where the RiverDogs team with a local non-profit organization. This Monday, The Goodwill Industries will raise money and awareness for their cause. Monday's game is also Fitness Night, where the RiverDogs will show fans different ways to stay active. "Dogs with a Cause" Night featuring Goodwill Industries/Fitness Night is presented by WSC 94.3 FM. Fans bring your neighbor to The Joe as part of Tom McQueeney's State Farm "Good Neighbor" Monday, neighbors can receive two-for-one admission to the night's game with identification proof. One lucky neighbor will receive a pair of binoculars courtesy of Tom McQueeney State Farm Insurance.

Education/Senior Day and Two-For-Tuesday and Citadel Doubleheader

Join the RiverDogs for a rare 11:05 morning start time. It's Baseball 101 at the ballpark. Swap your pencils, books and dirty looks at the front gate for hot dogs, foam fingers and a little bit of RiverDogs education. This Tuesday is a school day, so join area kids that attend local schools in cheering on the RiverDogs. Teaming with the young is the young-at-heart as the RiverDogs also have their first Senior Day at The Joe. Every Tuesday is a Bi-Lo Two- For-Tuesday as fans may double their fun when they present their Bi-Lo card at the box office and can purchase two tickets for the price of one. Education/Senior Day and Two-For-Tuesday are presented by Bi-Lo, 98X and the CW. It's also another Citadel doubleheader game as the Bulldogs host Presbyterian at 4 pm, and RiverDogs fans are welcome to stay for the intercollegiate battle.

Talk Like Arnold from Cah-LEE-forn-yah Night, Wild Wednesday All-You-Can-Eat Special and Citadel Doubleheader

This Wednesday is Talk Like Arnold from Cah-LEE-forn-yah Night, so come and pay homage to the muscle-bound Governornator of California. Every Wednesday is an All-You-Can-Eat Wild Wednesday as fans have the opportunity to add $20 to your ticket price and enjoy all-you-can eat and drink menu items throughout the game in the Ashley View Pub. All-You-Can-Eat Wild Wednesday/Talk Like Arnold from Cah-LEE-forn-yah Night is presented by B92. It's also another Citadel doubleheader game as the Bulldogs host USC Upstate at 4 pm.

RiverDogs 1K Run, Midget Wrestling and Thirsty Thursday

Fans will also enjoy the high-wire antics of Midget Wrestling Night on Thursday, May 7, when the RiverDogs take on the Tourists at The Joe. Prior to the game fans will be able to enjoy the Lowcountry's biggest little race with the RiverDogs 1K Run. Stick around postgame for the annual wrestling match featuring Little Kato who battles Bad Boy Brian, which is one of the season's promotional highlights. Plus, join us before the game for the shortest organized race (pun intended), the RiverDogs 1K. Every Thursday game is a Thirsty Thursday that offers beer for only a dollar at the Ashley View Pub. Thirsty Thursday/Midget Wrestling Night is presented by 95SX.

Boy Scouts Camp Out Night, Post-Game Fireworks and Red Shirt Friday

Fridays are Force Protection Red Shirt Fridays, so wear a red shirt and get a dollar off your walk-up ticket price. Fans then have the option to donate that dollar to a military family with parents fighting overseas. Join the RiverDogs for a dazzling display of pyrotechnics immediately following the game courtesy of Gene Reed. This Friday is also Boy Scouts Night as the RiverDogs recognize the area's Boy Scouts. Fireworks Night/Red Shirt Friday/Boy Scouts Night is presented by Force Protection Industries, Inc. and WEZL 103.5 FM.

Salute to the Slinky Giveaway featuring The Human Slinky

Fans that enter the gates for Saturday's RiverDogs/Tourists game will enjoy our Salute to the Slinky at The Joe as the first 1,000 fans receive that favorite coiled toy free. Fans will also enjoy the wacky performances of the Human Slinky throughout the night. Salute to Slinky Night is presented by WTAT Fox 24.
