Salamida Selected August Pitcher of the Month

The American Association has announced that Winnipeg Goldeyes pitcher Chris Salamida is the Rawlings Pitcher of the Month for August.
Salamida, 29, was a perfect 6-0 with a 2.08 ERA in seven starts in August. He posted complete-game shutouts in back-to-back starts on August 15 against the Sioux City Explorers in a 1-0 win and August 20 against the St. Paul Saints in a 7-0 victory. He pitched 20.1 consecutive scoreless innings in those two starts and his start August 24 against the Sioux Falls Canaries.
After joining the team in late July, Salamida went 7-1 with a 2.23 ERA in nine starts with the Goldeyes in 2013.
