Saints Zer0K Participants Have Extra Week to Get Ready, Running of the Pigs Postponed Until April 27

ST. PAUL, MN (April 19, 2013) - The St. Paul Saints Running of the Pigs/Zer0K race is the unofficial kick-off to spring and a sign the season is just around the corner. Apparently, Mother Nature didn't get the message and the annual race will be postponed.

All runners, walkers, couch sitters, will have an extra week to mentally and physically prepare for the entertaining Saints event. The Running of the Pigs/Zer0K is being moved from Saturday, April 20 to Saturday, April 27. With conditions being more ideal for snowshoes instead of running shoes the Saints have opted to play it safe and allow for a warmer event next Saturday. All runners registered for the event will just need to show up on April 27 and no refunds will be given. Participants can check in or register between 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. with the Youth Run kicking off at 9:00 a.m.

Runners will line up for the demanding Zer0K at 9:25 a.m. with the race ending at 9:25 a.m. The 5K Run/Walk will follow starting at 9:30 a.m. Weather permitting the race begins on the field at home plate, will take runners along Energy Park Drive before finishing at home plate. The race will be timed.

The post-race meal at the ballpark will be provided by Lettuce Cater. They are located at 604 40th Ave. Northeast in Columbia Heights.

Registration in advance is $35 for adults and $20 for youths for the 5K and $20 for the Zer0K. An extra $5 will be charged for registering on the day of the race. The 5K entry fee includes a short-sleeve 2012 "Running of the Pigs" T-Shirt, a post-race meal voucher and a general admission ticket to the Saints game. For guests of race participants, extra picnic and game tickets are available for $5.

Parking for the race itself is available in the main parking lot at Midway Stadium free of charge and runners are advised to arrive early as the road will be closed 15 minutes before the race.
