
Saints Score Big Again, 13-4

SIOUX CITY, IA (June 19, 2007) - For the second straight game the St. Paul Saints offense scored double digit runs as they beat up on the Sioux City Explorers 13-4 at Lewis and Clark Park on Tuesday evening.
The Saints started it in the fourth when they scored five runs as they sent 11 men to the plate. Adam Bourassa started it with an RBI single and Skip Adams knocked home a run with a double. A throwing error with the bases loaded plated two more runs and the final run scored on a fielding error by thirdbaseman Jake Daubert.
The Saints sent eight more men to the plate in the fifth and got an RBI single from Alex Fonseca and a two run single from Brent Krause to make it 8-0. Saints starter Brian Whinnery did the rest.
Whinnery went 7.0 innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out six in throwing 112 pitches. He picked up his second victory of the season.
Eight of the nine Saints collected a hit and lead off hitter Matt Brunson, who was the only Saint not to collect a hit, batted seven times and scored three runs. Alex Fonseca collected four hits, the second time in nine games with the Saints he has done that. Brent Krause added three hits as did Brian Sprout. Seven of the nine Saints scored a run.
The Same two teams play tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. The Saints send RHP Charlie Ruud (4-2, 4.53) against RHP Brad Guy (1-4, 3.88). The game can be heard live on KBGY 107.5 FM.
