
Saints Pounded by Saltdogs, 10-3

LINCOLN, NE (July 23, 2007) - The St. Paul Saints continue to struggle at Haymarket Park losing for the fifth straight time to the Lincoln Saltdogs in their home stadium this time 10-3 on Monday night.
For the second consecutive start Saints lefty Jake Postlewait was rocked in the first inning. After retiring the first two hitters, the Saltdogs sent 10 more men to the plate scoring six runs on seven hits while walking twice. The Saltdogs managed three doubles with Brett Cooley driving in a run with his and Jay Yaconetti plating two. Joe Dempsey, Cody Lusero and Corey Harrington added RBI singles. Postlewait went just 1.0 inning allowing six runs on seven hits.
The Saints offense couldn't do anything when given opportunities during the evening. They managed just four hits and stranded 10 runners. Saints lead off man Scooter Jordan had his streak of reaching base safely end at 45 games as he went 0-5.
Saints reliever Kyle Foster was the lone bright spot hurling 5.0 innings of relief allowing one run on three hits while walking two and striking out two.
The Saints are now just 4-10 against the Saltdogs this season and 1-7 at Haymarket Park.
The same two teams meet Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Saints send RHP Justin Lord (2-1, 2.61) to the mound while the Saltdogs are TBA. The game can be heard on KBGY 107.5 FM.
