Saints Coach Graced With League Honors

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Saints announced today that head coach and director of hockey operations, Ray Edwards, has been named the Central Hockey League, "Coach of the Year". The "Coach of the Year" award is given out annually by the CHL and is voted on by the coaches of each team in the Central Hockey League.

"I still can't believe it, it is so overwhelming," says Coach Edwards. "Considering my last 3 to 4 years coaching, I never thought I would be up for an award like this." The Central Hockey League will be honoring Edwards Friday night, March 12th, when the Saints host the Fort Worth Brahmas. Duane Lewis, Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Central Hockey League, will be on hand to present the award to Edwards before the game. "This is definitely a Team Award, says Coach Edwards. "You have to have great individuals and I accept this award on behalf of the team."

The Saints finish up their regular season tonight versus the Corpus Christi Rayz and this weekend versus the Fort Worth Brahmas on Friday and the New Mexico Scorpions on Saturday. The first 2,094 fans who walk up to the coliseum box office Friday night starting at 4:00 PM, will receive 94¢ tickets. Saturday night is Military night with all active and retired Military and their families receiving $6 tickets to the game. The saints are also continuing the "Happy Hour" for the remainder of the regular season with 50¢ draft beer, hot dogs and soft drinks from 6-7 PM. Also Saints merchandise will be 35% off during this time and there will be 50¢ public skating after the games.
