Saginaw Spirit Announce Trade with North Bay Battalion

The Saginaw Spirit today announced details of a trade with the Eastern Conference's North Bay Battalion. In the exchange, the Spirit sended Team Captain Nick Moutrey to the Battalion in exchange for a package of one player and draft picks. The Spirit will receive 1997 birth-year goaltender Evan Cormier, along with second-round picks in the 2015, 2017, and 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. The Spirit will also receive a fourth round pick in 2020 and a conditional third and fourth round picks in 2018.

Moutrey, a former Saginaw first-round pick, will leave the Spirit after playing 235 games with the franchise, recording 48 goals and 85 assists for 133 points. This season, the Columbus Blue Jackets prospect recorded 15 goals and 25 assists in 33 games played.

Cormier has appeared in eight games this season for the Battalion and has posted 3 wins, 2 losses, and 1 overtime loss with a 2.50 goals against average and 2 shutouts.
