
Luchuk Lifts Spits in Overtime

(Mississauga, ON) - Aaron Luchuk scored at 2:33 of overtime, lifting the Spitfires to an improbable 5-4 win over the Steelheads at the Hershey Centre Sunday afternoon.
Logan Brown scored a pair of goals in the third period, sending the game to the extra session, while Brendan Johnston was outstanding in goal, making 47 saves in the win.
Trailing 4-2 with less than 10 minutes to play, Brown blew a pair of slapshots by Steelheads goaltender Cameron Zanussi (31 saves) at 10:14 and 14:04, knotting the game at 4-4.
Trevor Murphy (15) and Cristiano DiGiacinto (13) had the other goals for Windsor (15-20-1-0), which won its fourth consecutive road game.
Sam Povorozniouk and Ryan Moore each had a pair of assists.
Jimmy Lodge scored three times for Mississauga (17-18-1-1).
Michael McLeod, Everett Clark and Brandon Devlin had two assists apiece in a losing cause.
The Spits now head home briefly before heading out for three more road games on their annual Eastern Ontario tour of Belleville, Ottawa and Kingston.
