New York Liberty News Release
NEW YORK - Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu has been selected to play in the AT&T 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, to be held on Sunday, July 10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
Ionescu, the franchise's first-ever No. 1 overall draftee in 2020, will start in her debut WNBA All-Star appearance after averaging 16.7 points (11th in WNBA), 6.1 assists (4th in WNBA) and 6.4 rebounds (20th in WNBA) while shooting 44.1% from the field, 34.3% from three and 92.2% at the free throw line through the first 16 contests of the 2022 season. Additionally, on June 12, Sabrina became the first-ever player to record a triple-double within three quarters, as well as the youngest player to record multiple in a career at just 24 years old.
