SaberCats Pauley named AFL's Ironman of the Week

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 14, 2006) - San Jose SaberCats WR/DB CHARLES PAULEY was today named the Arena Football League's Ironman of the Week for his two-way performance in San Jose's win at Arizona on Feb. 12.

A three-year AFL veteran from San Jose State University, Pauley (5-10, 165) had three receptions for 78 yards, including a season-long 45-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter of the SaberCats' 58-50 win over the Rattlers.

On defense Pauley contributed a career-high tying 7.5 total tackles, including a tackle for loss, his fourth career interception and a pair of pass breakups to help San Jose move into a first place tie in the Western Division.

It was the first league award for Pauley and the 22nd time a San Jose player has been named the AFL's Ironman of the Week.

Pauley and the SaberCats continue their franchise record five-game road trip by traveling to Grand Rapids to take on the Rampage Sunday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. (PT). The game will be televised live on the Bay Area's TV20 and aired on the team's flagship radio station KNBR 1050.
