Rychel Scores Team-Leading Tenth Goal in the 4-2 Loss to San Jose

San Jose, CA. - Stockton suffered a setback today in San Jose against the Barracuda, falling 4-2 in the School Day Game at the SAP Center. Stockton struck first just 46 seconds in with Alan Quine's sixth goal of the year. Quine's opening marker was the fastest goal scored by the Stockton Heat this season. The Heat would take a two-goal lead in the second period on the power play for Kerby Rychel's team-leading tenth tally of the year. San Jose would answer 22 seconds later on a goal scored by Jonathon Martin, his first of the season. Less than three minutes later San Jose tied it up and before the middle period ended, Nicholas DeSimone would make it 3-2. Stockton was only able to score once in the second period despite 15 shots on goaltender Josef Korenar. Gillies took the loss, allowing three goals on 18 shots. San Jose scored an empty netter late to make it a 4-2 win for San Jose. Stockton has now dropped two consecutive games for the first time since Monday, November 5th.

The Heat head back home for the start of a six-game home stand with a Friday night matchup against the Ontario Reign at 7:00 PM for Harry Potter Night. The Heat will once again play the San Jose Barracuda on Saturday night for the sixth matchup between the two clubs this seasons.
