
Ryan Weiss Earns First California League Win in Rawhide's 12-4 Win over Stockton

VISALIA, CA - Rawhide put on a show scoring 12 runs off 16 hits and six walks. Nobody in the Visalia line-up struck out, while the pitching staff combined to strike out 10 Ports batters.
Ryan Weiss earned his first California League win after giving up two earned runs off four hits. He did not give a walk and fanned six. The Rawhide gave him run support early. Runners were on second and third with one out when Eduardo Diaz grounded out to second. His groundball allowed Geraldo Perdomo to score from third for the first run of the game.
In the second inning, Jose Herrera hit his first home run in the California League to make the score 2-0. Perdomo hit a fly ball to centerfield with bases loaded and Marty Herum scored to give the Rawhide the lead 3-0.
Stockton tied up the ball game in the fourth. Jonah Bride doubled and Ryan Gridley scored from second base. Two more runs scored off a fielding error by right fielder Jorge Perez .
Diaz hit his second home run of the season for Visalia in the fifth inning to give the Rawhide the lead, but Alfonso Rivas tied it up with a solo shot of his own in the sixth.
Rawhide scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the 8-4 lead. Perez drove in Alex King with a sacrifice fly. Perdomo and Alek Thomas scored off Diaz's single to right field and he scored of Yoel Yanqui 's triple. Visalia tacked on four more runs in the eighth inning off Yanqui's grand slam. It was his sixth homerun of the season for the Rawhide and his fifth RBI of the game.
