Ryan McMahon Earns Second PCL Player of the Week Honor

Albuquerque Isotopes infielder Ryan McMahon has been named the Pacific Coast League's Player of the Week for the week of July 24-30. It is the second time this season McMahon, who was also named the PCL's Player of the Month for June, has earned the honor.
McMahon turned in a .520 batting average (13-for-25) in six games last week to go along with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and 8 RBI. The 22-year old posted a .920 slugging percentage and a .552 on-base percentage, resulting in a 1.472 OPS. The Yorba Linda, CA native turned in multi-hit games in four of his six outings. Twice during the week McMahon finished one leg shy of the cycle, coming up a double short on July 27 and a triple away on July 29.
Before joining the Isotopes, McMahon hit to a .326 average (59-for-181) with Double-A Hartford, connecting on six home runs while recording 32 RBI in 40 games. A 2013 second round selection by the Rockies, McMahon is now hitting .360 with 17 home runs, 71 RBI, 11 stolen bases, a .403 on-base percentage and has slugged .596 combined between Double-A and Triple-A on the season.
With McMahon's award, the Isotopes have now combined for six Player/Pitcher of the Week honors during the 2017 season, tying a franchise-high set in 2008. Jordan Patterson joins McMahon with two Player of the Week honors, while Ryan Carpenter and Jeff Hoffman also took home Pitcher of the Week nods from the PCL this season.
The Isotopes are currently in the midst of a four-game set with the Iowa Cubs. After an eight-game road trip beginning on August 3, the Isotopes will return home August 11 for a four-game series vs. the Fresno Grizzlies (Astros).
