RENO, Nevada - The first-place Memphis Redbirds erased a 4-2 deficit in the top of the eighth inning Sunday afternoon in Reno, Nevada, but the Reno Aces (Diamondbacks) answered back and took game two of the series, 6-4.

Tyler O'Neill was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI for the Redbirds (70-37), with his eight-inning home run tying the game at 4 runs apiece. Breyvic Valera also had two hits and scored a run for the Redbirds.

St. Louis Cardinals No. 9 prospect and 2016 first-round draft pick Dakota Hudson made his Triple-A debut on the mound, just 415 days after his final game with Mississippi State, and battled through 7.0 innings, giving up four runs on six hits with four strikeouts and three walks. After allowing two runs in both the second and third innings, he set down 11 of the next 12 Aces into the seventh inning.

The Redbirds tied the game at 4 in the top of the eighth, with O'Neill blasting a two-out, two-run home run on a 3-2 pitch that scored Nick Martini, who pinch hit and walked to start the inning.

Ryan Sherriff came on to work the eighth and allowed two runs, putting Reno ahead 6-4, and the Aces retired the Redbirds in order in the top of the ninth to even the series.

Despite the loss, Memphis has still won 24 of its last 30 games.

The Redbirds and the Aces resume their four-game series tomorrow night at 9:05 (CT). After two more games in Reno followed by an off-day, Memphis moves on to Tacoma for four games against the Rainiers (Mariners).
