Owen Sound Attack Captain Bobby Ryan has been named the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week of January 22 to 28, 2007.
Sitting just 2 points behind Andrew Brunette in the all time franchise scoring race, the first game of the weekend was Friday night in Kitchener. Bobby Ryan scored Owen Sound's first goal of the game while shorthanded at the 11:18 mark of the first period to tie the game at 1. He then scored the Attack's only other goal in the game at 10:52 of the second period in a 4-2 loss to the Rangers.
Now tied with Andrew Brunette for the franchise scoring record, Bobby Ryan assisted on the Attack's first goal of the game at 9:28 of the second period to set the new record. He was eventually named Third Star of the Game and received several standing ovations during a special ceremony following the game.
The Attack scored four goals in two games and Bobby Ryan was involved in three of them, and he finished the week with a Plus Minus rating of Even.
He is now the all time franchise leading scorer with 119 goals and 177 assists for 296 points in 231 Ontario Hockey League games played. He is also the all time franchise leader in Assists, and is now just 13 goals from becoming the all time franchise leader for goals. The current leader is Wes Goldie with 131 goals.
