WEEKEND RECAP: The Barrie Colts posted two victories in three games over the weekend to improve their overall record to 34-13-0-1 on the season with 69 points..They are currently seven points ahead of the Brampton Battalion for first place in the Eastern Conference standings through 48 games of their regular season schedule..Saturday's 7-3 home victory over the Sudbury Wolves improved their home record to 15-7-0-1, and their 3-1 victory Sunday in Brampton extended their away record to 19-6-0-0

January 28 @ BRAMPTON: The Barrie Colts posted their second win in as many days as they used a third period rally to defeat the Brampton Battalion by a score of 3-1 Sunday afternoon at the Powerade Centre....The Battalion went ahead 1-0 in the second before the Colts' offense kicked in...Vladimir Nikiforov (17) made it a 1-1 game, and then Hunter Tremblay capped off a six-goal weekend as he scored his 23rd and 24th goals of the season to put the Colts ahead for good, and improve their overall road record to 19-6-0-0 on the season....Rookie Michael Hutchinson was solid in goal once again as the 16-year old made 32 saves and picked up his second straight road victory while improving his record to 4-3-0-0 on the season with a .924 overall save percentage....Nick Plastino was in on all three Barrie goals Sunday as he collected three assists, while Richard Clune added two assists, and Bryan Little added one....The victory over Brampton improves the Colts' record to 5-0-0-0 this season against the Battalion

JANUARY 27 VS. SUDBURY: The Barrie Colts were led by a four goal effort Saturday evening at the Molson Centre as they defeated the Sudbury Wolves by a score of 7-3...Hunter Tremblay registered four (19,20,21,22) and collected one assist to lead the charge for the home side, as they increased their first place lead on the Eastern Conference standings to seven points over the Mississauga Ice Dogs...The Colts trailed 2-1 after one period before coming back to go ahead 3-2 after two and never looked back from there....Bryan Little (29), Ryan Bellows (2) and Michael Lombardi (8) also scored for the Colts, who increased their Molson Centre record to 15-7-0-1 on the season....Andrew Perugini made the start in goal and kicked aside 27 shots to post his 30th victory of the season....Tyson Aitcheson, Nick Plastino, Kris Sparre, with two, Mike Weber, Matthew Bragg, Andrew Marshall and Stefan Della Rovere also chipped in on the offense with assists

January 26 @ GUELPH: The Barrie Colts were defeated Friday night by the Guelph Storm by a final score of 3-0.The Colts woes in Guelph continue, as the team has failed to record a victory at the Guelph Sports and Entertainment Centre within the past five seasons.Furthermore, this game marked only the third time the team has been shutout this season, twice victim of the Storm's stifling defense, which ranks third in the league in goals allowed with a mere 136... Guelph rookie goaltender Thomas McCollum recorded his fourth shutout of the season, making 25 saves in the win, while Andrew Perugini made 25 saves and recorded the loss for the visiting Colts

WHAT'S ON TAP: The Barrie Colts have three more games scheduled for this weekend beginning Thursday after the All-Star game when they host John Tavares and the Oshawa Generals (24-18-1-4) at the Barrie Molson Centre (7:30 p.m.)...The Colts have gained victories in two previous outings to Oshawa, and they will have to deal with a Generals squad being led by a 98-point season by the 16-year old phenom Tavares...The Generals are a solid 6-2-1-1 throughout their past ten games and are currently third in the OHL having scored 211 goals...The Colts Friday venture to Sudbury for the fourth and final time this season, as they have posted a 3-0 record against the Wolves in their arena outscoring them 13-4 thus far...The Wolves are currently eleven points back of the Mississauga Ice Dogs for second place in the Central Division standings..The Colts return home to close out the weekend Saturday when they host the Peterborough Petes for the first time this season.The Colts and Petes will face each other a total of four times in the remaining 20 games, and they have not met since the Petes defeated the Colts in five games during last season's Eastern Conference Final Series..After dealing forwards Steve Downie and Daniel Ryder to build for the future prior to the trade deadline, the Petes are trying to hold on to the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, as they are one point ahead of the Brampton Battalion

ALL-STAR WEEK: Hunter Tremblay, Bryan Little, Andrew Perugini and Head Coach Marty Williamson will represent the Colts in the All-Star game this week in Saginaw as the group will depart for Michigan Tuesday in preparation for the skills competition to take place that night..They will then compete in the annual game which will be televised via Rogers Sportsnet Wednesday beginning LIVE at 7:00 p.m..For Perguini, Tremblay and Williamson, the game marks their first All-Star appearances, while Little will skate in his third

A CAREER MILESTONE: Overage player Hunter Tremblay's second goal of the game in Saturday's victory against the Sudbury Wolves was a historical one for the Timmins native as it was the 100th of his career...Tremblay is skating in his fifth full season with the Barrie Colts, as he is the first player in franchise history to do so

ROOKIE MAKING HIS MARK: 16-year old goaltender Michael Hutchinson made 32 saves Sunday afternoon to record his second straight road victory and third victory in his last four overall starts.Hutchinson is currently 4-3-0-0 on the season with a 2.63 goals against average and .924 save percentage throughout eight games

GOALS FOR AND AGAINST: The Colts have scored 186 goals through 48 games, placing them tenth overall in the OHL in this category.Defensively, the team is fourth overall having given up 146 goals ..In terms of goals for and against per game, the Colts have scored 3.88 and allowed 3.04

SPECIAL TEAMS OUTLOOK: The Colts' powerplay is currently third overall in the OHL having scored 69 goals on 307 opportunities for an efficiency of 22.5%.....On the penalty kill, the Colts place sixth overall as they have killed 280 of 340 shorthanded situations for an efficiency of 82.4%

ROSTER NOTES: Defenseman Kyle van de Bospoort has missed the Colts' past six games and is currently listed as week-to-week with an upper body injury..There are no other roster moves or injuries to report
