Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Modesto Nuts won for the second time in three nights at LoanMart Field, securing an 11-6 win over the Quakes on Thursday evening.
Despite Dalton Rushing's first career four-hit night and multi-homer game, the Quakes lost for the third time in the last four games.
Modesto scored the game's first five runs and never looked back.
Quakes' starter Peter Heubeck (0-1) had faced the minimum through two, but ran into trouble in the third, as he gave up three runs and suffered his first career loss.
Trailing 5-0, Rancho tallied four straight to get back in the game. Luis Rodriguez delivered a two-out in the fourth, putting them on the board at 5-1. Kyle Froemke blasted his first career homer to right to open the fifth, making it a 5-2 game. Rushing capped a three-run fourth against Modesto starter Adrian Quintana (1-3) by hitting his first of two round-trippers, making it 5-4.
Modesto got four in the seventh off reliever Jerming Rosario though and then added two more in the ninth to put it away, helping to negate another Rushing homer, his fifth in just 11 games this year.
The Quakes (22-23, 58-53) will send Maddux Bruns (0-2) to the mound on Friday night, as he'll battle Modesto's Michael Morales (5-7) at 6:30pm.
Friday is another Family RV Family Feast Night, with $2 hot dogs, $1 Pepsi products and $1 ice cream sandwiches throughout the game. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
