RUSH STORYLINES & UPCOMING OPPONENTS:
- Shooting for 40 - With 39 tallies under his belt, Ryan Menei is looking to add another franchise record to his already impressive resume. Menei is on the cusp of becoming the first player in team history to score 40 goals in one season. Last year, Scott Wray finished with 39 overall, 31 through the regular season and 8 in the playoffs. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native collected three points in the regular-season finale, setting a new Rush regular-season record for points with 87 (39g, 48a). Back on February 12th in a game against the Arizona Sundogs, Menei set a new regular-season high for goals, topping Scott Wray's 31 set last year.
- Bouncing Back - On night after being pulled in game #1, Danny Battochio returned to make 24 saves and hold the Dayton Gems to one goal on Saturday night. The goaltender now boasts a very impressive 13-4 record in playoff games with a 2.77 goals against average and .909 save percentage.
- Powerplay - Over the last eight games, the Rush powerplay is converting at 25.5%, scoring on 13 of 51 chances. In all, the powerplay has found the twine in nine of the last eleven games. Rapid City went 3-for-5 in game #1, the most ppg in a game since a 4-7 performance on January 28th against Odessa.
- More Blueline Help - Riding a five-game point streak, Riley Weselowski continues to add an offensive point for the Rush, totaling ten points over his last nine tilts (1g, 9a). The third-year defenseman has set career highs in goals (5), assists (21), points (26) and penalty minutes (74). Second-year pro Dave Grimson is also on a five-game point streak (2g, 4a). In all, Grimson has posted eight points in his last seven games (2g, 6a).
