Rush Send Plume To Bossier-Shreveport in Exchange for Medernach & Future Considerations

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush announced today that they have completed a trade with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, swapping defenseman Clay Plume for Kirk Medernach. The Rush will also receive future considerations in the deal.

Medernach is a 6'4" 220-pound pound defenseman from Cudworth, Saskatchewan. The rookie collected one point and 43 penalty minutes in 18 games played this season with the Mudbugs. Prior to this season, Medernach appeared in one game for the Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League during the 2008-09 campaign. Medernach played four years at Mercyhurst College where in 139 games, he totaled 28 points (4g-24a-28pts) and 272 penalty minutes.

Plume played in 19 games for Rapid City, accumulating eight assists, 14 penalty minutes, and a +4 rating. Prior to skating for the Rush, the Standoff, Alberta native played three seasons with the Rocky Mountain Rage.

Rapid City continues on their road trip as they head to Mississippi to take on the RiverKings for the first meeting of the season at the DeSoto CC. The game is scheduled for Friday, December 18th, at 6:05pm MST.
