Chicago Rush News Release

Chicago Rush offensive specialist Bobby Sippio was named AFL Offensive Player of the Week for his performance Saturday against the Utah Blaze, the Arena Football League announced today.

Sippio caught 10 passes for a Rush record 217 yards and six touchdowns in Chicago's 84-48 win over the Blaze. The six touchdown receptions tied Sippio's own team record set just two weeks earlier against the Las Vegas Gladiators.

"Bobby has done a tremendous job for us in the month he has been in Chicago," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "The scary part is that he still is in the process of learning our system."

Sippio has played four games for Chicago since joining the team April 15, at Arizona, catching 32 passes for 580 yards and 15 touchdowns. Last week, he signed a contract extension with the Rush through the 2007 season.

The Rush travels to Grand Rapids this weekend to play its final regular season game at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, against the Rampage. The game will be televised live on OLN cable beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday and rebroadcast on Comcast Sports Net in Chicago at noon on Sunday.
