San Diego, CA - Friday night at Pechanga Arena, the Saskatchewan Rush topped the leaders in the West Conference, the San Diego Seals, 16-11.

It was all white and green in the first quarter as Matt Beers cracked the seal, followed by tallies from Mark Matthews and Dan Lintner who made his return to the lineup.

San Diego would continue to battle back as Dane Dobbie buried a handful in the game, but it was the visitors leading 6-5 at half thanks to goals from rookies Jake Boudreau, Jerrett Smith and veteran Robert Church.

In the third quarter, the Rush were able to chase Seals starter Chris Origlieri after goals from Marty Dinsdale, Matthews and Church. Boudreau and Matthews brought the lead back up to three after 45 minutes.

While San Diego punched back in the final frame, Saskatchewan kept their foot on the pedal firing five more in the net, closing out a 16-11 win.

Netminder Alex Buque made 36 saves in the win. Matthews, Church and Boudreau all had hat tricks in the win. Captain Ryan Dilks was credited with three caused turnovers and Mike Messenger led the way with 14 loose balls while winning 16 faceoffs. The powerplay was 2/3 in the game.

Next up, the Saskatchewan Rush will host Aaron Bold and the Vancouver Warriors for Pride Night at the SaskTel Centre on Saturday, February 25th.
