
Roughnecks Win Over Warriors 14-9

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks defeated the Vancouver Warriors 14-9 Friday night at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, sweeping the three-game series between the two west division rivals.
Calgary were first on the board with a short-handed goal from Jesse King, Vancouver then tallied one on the powerplay before the Roughnecks found the back of the net for three straight goals from Tanner Cook, King, and Zach Currier. Josh Currier added one early in the second, before Vancouver made a push of four straight goals to see them briefly ahead of the visitors. The Roughnecks were able to regain the lead with Haiden Dickson scoring before Jesse King netted his third of the night on the powerplay.
Calgary maintained the lead through the second half, Haiden Dickson began the third quarter scoring on the powerplay followed by goals from King and Zach Currier, with Vancouver adding two to their tally. Tyler Pace opened the scoring in the final frame with his first of the evening, before Dickson netted two to take his total goals for the evening to four. Josh Currier had the final goal of the night with an empty-netter for the Roughnecks to finish 14-9.
Jesse King led the team in points tonight with eight (4g, 4a), followed by Haiden Dickson with seven (4g, 3a). Josh Currier, Tyler Pace and Tanner Cook all finished their nights with five points. Christian Del Bianco made 54 saves on 63 shots for Calgary, with the Warriors outshooting the Roughnecks 63-47. The Roughnecks went 4 for 8 on the powerplay, with the Warriors finishing 2-3.
With the win tonight, Calgary are now 7-3 for the season.
The Calgary Roughnecks continue on the road next weekend, heading to Las Vegas to take on the Desert Dogs on Friday February 24th. The Riggers return to the Rough House on Friday, March 17th for the St Patrick's Day Party.
