San Diego Seals Fall to the Saskatchewan Rush
February 18, 2023 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
San Diego Seals News Release
The San Diego Seals fell to the Saskatchewan Rush 16-11 on Friday night at Pechanga Arena San Diego.
This is the team's first loss on home turf this season.
The Seals struggled to find their footing early on. Forward Dane Dobbie got things started for the Seals with four goals in the first half, but the team was still unable to secure a lead over the Rush throughout the duration of the game. Despite a valiant effort to come out on top, Saskatchewan maintained their footing with a five-point lead in the final quarter, ultimately coming away with a win.
Despite the loss, plenty of positive outcomes came from the night's contest.
After tonight's game, transition player Brodie Merrill now sits at fifth place all time in the NLL for games played, with an impressive 267.
Dobbie is now tied for fourth place in goals scored this season after his explosive offensive run Friday night.
Additionally, defenseman Eli Gobrecht scored his first goal since 2020.
The Seals will make their debut on March 4 at Snapdragon Stadium vs. the Las Vegas Desert Dogs for the NLL Stadium Showdown. Don't miss this historic match!
