WEEKEND RECAP: The Colts posted a 1-2 record over the weekend to extend their overall record to 33-17-1-3 on the season, split between 18-6-0-2 at home and 15-11-1-1 on the road..The Colts kicked off the week with a 4-1 victory on Thursday evening against the Soo Greyhounds before they dropped both games of a Western road trip.They were involved in a pair of tight checking battles, but the Colts came up on the short end of a 3-2 decision Saturday in Plymouth and a 2-1 decision Sunday afternoon versus Windsor..February 9 vs. SAULT STE. MARIE: The Colts opened up the first period with a 2-0 lead on their way to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Soo Greyhounds..The win evened their season record to 1-1 against the Hounds, as Travis Fuller (17), Hunter Tremblay (22), Jordan Grant (7) and Bryan Little (33) each scored goals..Dan LaCosta made 30 saves in goal while improving his overall record to 26-11-1-3 for the home side..The victory was Barrie's sixth in a row at home, a win-streak that dates back to January 14..They have outscored their opponents 36 to 13 during this span..February 11 @ PLYMOUTH: The Colts began their two game Western road trip with a 3-2 defeat against the Plymouth Whalers..The Whalers jumped ahead 3-0 in the first period and the Colts had to play catch up the rest of the way..Todd Perry (4) scored in the second and Ryan Hamilton (34) put the Colts to within one at the 15:59 mark of the third period..That is all the club could get by Justin Garay, who turned in a solid netminding effort with 37 saves in the game..The Whalers dressed just 15 skaters in the game as four players were injured and four suspended due to fights in their game on Friday in London..Dan LaCosta made 13 saves while suffering the loss in goal for the Colts..February 12 @ WINDSOR: Playing their second game in as many days, the Colts ran into a Windsor squad that had won their previous 12 games on home ice..The Spitfires turned in another solid effort and gained a 2-1 victory against the Colts to extend their streak to 13 dated back to November 27, 2005..Cal O'Reilly (13,14) scored both goals for the home club and Ryan Hamilton (35) replied with his second in as many nights for the Colts, as they dropped two straight on the road for just the second time this season.Dan LaCosta made 25 saves to extend his record to 26-13-1-3, while Jakub Petruzalek and Nick Plastino recorded assists on Hamilton's powerplay goal WHAT'S ON TAP: The club has a pair of games scheduled this week beginning Friday night with a visit to Sudbury (7:30 p.m.) to face the Sudbury Wolves (26-23-1-4)..The Colts will be looking to avenge a 6-1 loss that occurred during their last visit to the Sudbury Arena back on January 27..The Colts this season have posted a 3-2 overall record against the Wolves including a 1-2 record while playing as visitors..The two teams will play each other two more times at the Barrie Molson Centre this season..The club will return back to Barrie in preparation for their home game scheduled for Saturday night (7:30 p.m.) against the Toronto St. Michael's Majors (26-19-5-3)..With 60 points in third place in the Central Division, the Majors are ten points behind Barrie and three ahead of the Sudbury Wolves in the Central Division standings...The season series between Toronto and Barrie is tied 1-1, as each team has posted a victory in the other's building..They will get to know each other very well during this final stretch of the season, as they will play again another three times in the month of March.The Colts this season have posted a 12-2-1-1 record when playing at home on a Saturday night.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: Practices this week are scheduled for Monday to Thursday...All practices begin are scheduled at the Molson Centre from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and are open for the public to attend

INJURY & ROSTER UPDATES: Matthew Bragg suffered a broken arm during a January 21 victory versus Oshawa, and is currently listed as being out for another 3-to-5 weeks

CURRENT PLAYER STREAKS: Jakub Petruzalek and Ryan Hamilton each have recorded points in their last two games.Hamilton recorded one goal in each game over the weekend while Petruzalek added one assist in each game

SPECIAL TEAMS SUMMARY: Barrie's powerplay dropped from fourth to fifth from week to week as they have scored 93 goals through 440 opportunities for an efficiency rate of 21.1%....The penalty kill remained eighth as the club units has killed off 349 of 423 total shorthanded situations for an efficiency rate of 82.5% through 54 games.93 of the team's 205 goals have been scored on the powerplay (44%), while 74 of their 153 against have been allowed on the opposition's man-advantages (48%)

MARSHALL RECEIVES RECOGNITION FOR JANUARY: The Ontario Hockey League Monday announced that Colts defenseman Andrew Marshall was named the defenseman of the month for January.....Currently third in team scoring with 58 points (22g-36a) through 54 games, Marshall led the Colts from the back end with four goals and 14 assists through 12 games in January...He recorded at least one point in ten games during the month and also posted three three-point games....Marshall is currently first among all OHL defenseman with 22 goals, an output that is also a single season franchise high for a Colts defenseman

A TIME TO KILL: The Colts currently place eighth in the OHL in penalty killing efficiency at 82.5% on the season.Their units have been very productive of late having killed of 43 of the team's 47 penalties over their last five games for an efficiency rate of 91.5%

NICE TO BE AT HOME: The Colts have gained six straight victories at the Molson Centre dated back to January 14 where they have outscored their opponents 36 to 13..The club currently has the fourth best home record in the league at 18-6-0-2 overall

MULTI-POINT LEADERS: Bryan Little currently leads the team in total multi-point games at 27 on the season, split between eleven two point games, 13 three point games and three four point nights..Hunter Tremblay is second on the team with 17 multi-point games and Andrew Marshall has 16...Ryan Hamilton is fourth on the team with 15 multi-point nights

IN THE GOALS DEPARTMENT: The Colts have scored 205 goals this season and have allowed 153, placing them fourth and third respectively in these categories

COMMUNITY NEWS: Several members of the team are scheduled to appear at Staples Business Depot on Barrie View Drive this Sunday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. to sign autographs..Four players this Wednesday will speak at a local elementary school in conjunction with the Barrie Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police about several topics including; avoiding negative influences and staying focused on one's goals
