Guadagnolo named OHL Player of the Week

Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Windsor Spitfires goaltender Anthony Guadagnolo is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday February 12 after allowing just two goals in three wins. He posted a 0.67 goals against average and .977 save percentage and a shutout to help the Spitfires to a perfect 3-0-0-0 week.

The 20-year-old native of Markham started the week by stopping all 28 shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the Plymouth Whalers on February 9. He posted his fifth shutout of the season and was the first star of the game. He followed up with another first star effort, stopping 27 shots in a 4-1 win over the Sarnia Sting on February 10 and was the second star after making 31 saves in a 2-1 win over the Barrie Colts on February 12.

Guadagnolo improved his season record to 22-9-3-3. He is fourth among OHL goaltenders with a 2.63 goals against average and is tied for second with a .918 save percentage in 38 games this season.
