Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, Nebraska - The fun-loving Omaha Beef Rump Roasters are proving once again this season that there is more to their group than dancing and putting on a show at Beef home games.
Throughout the season the Rump Roasters make appearances at various events such as Omaha Knights Hockey games, Omaha Royals baseball games, and various Beef sponsored events. And on May 7th the Rump Roasters put on their 3rd annual show at the Hickory Village Retirement home. The Rump Roasters put on an hour long show, doing three group dances, Wipe Out, the crowd pleasing YMCA, and the Copa Cabana. During the Copa Cabana they encourage the ladies with their daughters and granddaughters to get up and join in the conga line. In between dances the Rump Roasters put on comical skits. The Rump Roasters go all out for this show, with costumes and props. After the show is done they don't just pack up and leave, they stay and spend time getting to know the ladies at the home.
Rick Southwich, better known as Doc, says, "It has become a Mother's day tradition." Doc goes onto say, "I like to share my fun with others. It is also a great way to promote and spread the word about the Omaha Beef."
The Beef Rump Roasters will be putting on a Beef Kabob Camp on June 10th. This camp is open to anyone ages 7-107 and will be held from 2-4 PM at Backstage Dance. During the camp you will learn how to dance Rump Roaster style and then head over to the Omaha Civic Auditorium and learn the fine art of tailgating. Campers will also have the opportunity to join the Rump Roasters at the game to show off all they have learned. The price is $25 per person, which includes a ticket to the game. Two people from the same family can participate for $40. For more information contact Batman at batmankend@aol.com.
Come see the Rump Roasters perform as the Beef return home on May 20th, as they will battle the Bloomington Extreme, the UIF's newest team. It's "Military Night" and anyone with a valid Military ID gets 2 for 1 tickets in Touchdown Alley. Individual game tickets still remain for all Beef home games and can be purchased by calling Jenny Cheney at the Omaha Beef Football office at 402-346-2333.
