TODAY: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies close out their series against the Sea Dogs as they play a doubleheader this afternoon. The Sea Dogs have taken the first two games of the series, 20-2 on Friday night and 8-7 yesterday.
SPLITTING IT DOWN THE MIDDLE: Sunday marks the fourth doubleheader the Rumble Ponies and Sea Dogs have played this year. Each of the first three times, the two clubs have split the twin bill. This is also a makeup of Saturday's scheduled doubleheader, as Game Two was postponed due to inclement weather.
DOUBLEHEADER DETAILS: At NYSEG Stadium on April 27, each team was victorious by a 1-0 final. In Portland on May 3rd, the Ponies took game 1 12-5, the Sea Dogs won the second game 5-3. On May 5, The Ponies dropped the first game 4-2 and won the second 6-5.
EAST VS. WEST: The Rumble Ponies are 17-4 against the Western Division, but only 12-16 against the East. At home against Eastern Division Foes, they are 4-9 on the year.
SEA DOGS SUCCESS AT NYSEG: The Rumble Ponies have taken 4 of 6 in Portland, but the Sea Dogs are 4-1 against the Rumble Ponies at NYSEG Stadium this year.
GONZALEZ CONSIISTENCY: Rumble Ponies Game 1 starter Harol Gonzalez Has pitched five innings or more in 22 consecutive starts, a stretch starting on June 2, 2018 with St. Lucie...last failed to pitch at least five innings on May 26, 2018 (4.0 IP) with St. Lucie
GAME 2 STARTER: RHP Andrew Church makes his first start of the year for Binghamton after being added on 6/1. This is Church first game action this year.
SOCK OUT CANCER: The Rumble Ponies wrap up their series against the Sea Dogs Sunday afternoon on Sock Out Cancer Day. Sock Out Cancer is a nonprofit that assists financially distressed medical cancer patients and their families pay for non-medical necessities such as food, transportation, and housing in order to focus their energy on fighting cancer.
COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies are off on Monday and then begin a six-game road trip starting Tuesday evening in Harrisburg. They will play the Senators for three games and then begin a weekend series beginning Friday night in Hartford against the Yard Goats.
